Note on Funding Status by Anil Srivastava
- Regrettably we had to decide not to file the CFC (Common Federal Campaign) application for 2010 because INCTR USA will be disqualified because of the Form 990.
- Now with INCTR USA being re-organized and with Larry Lessin as Treasurer, we can now use the (a) 501(c)3 status and (b) work hard on raising funding from other sources, including small individual contributions.
- As a matter of fact many small contributions will build the case for CFC application next year. My suggestion would be for all members of the Executive Committee to contribute $100 each. I will also which can be deposired in the INCTR USA account now with NIHFCU in Rockville. Aziza Shad, as President, and Larry Lessin, as Treasurer, are the authorized signatories.
- We have a breakfast meeting tomorrow (January 13th) to discuss INCTR-GKI-OpenCourseWare Consortium working together on OER in Health program with IOM. Some of the people who have confirmed their coming to the informal meeting are:
- Mike Smith, Special Counsel to Secretary of Education Duncan
- Roger Glass, Director, Fogarty International Center, and co-chair of NIH Task Force on Global Health
- Julia Royall, Chief, International Programs, National Library of Medicine
- Ben Prickril, International Programs Officer, Office of International Affairs, National Cancer Institute
- Stephan Thieringer, Sara Farley (GKI) and Mary Lou Forward (Open CourseWare Consortium)
